Herbs and Healing

Spiritual Horticulture

Spiritual Horticulture is a sacred practice that connects nature, spirit, and personal growth. Through intentional work with plants, herbs, and natural elements, we clear what no longer serves you, plant new intentions, and nurture your transformation.

Where the earth becomes your teacher

Spiritual Horticulture Workshop at Temple de la Luna

Tucked within our urban garden sanctuary, Temple de la Luna’s Spiritual Horticulture Program invites you to slow down, dig your hands into living soil, and rediscover the sacred rhythms that connect plant, breath, and spirit. This is not a gardening class — it is a moving meditation, a ritual practice, and a return to the ancient understanding that tending the earth is tending the self.

Guided by the cycles of the moon and the wisdom of seasonal growth, each session weaves together plant care, energy work, breathwork, intentional eating, and contemplative practice. Whether you arrive with a green thumb or none at all, you’ll leave with a deeper relationship to the living world — and to yourself.

When We Gather at Spiritual Horticulture Workshop

Our sessions are held once a month, on or near the Full Moon, always on a Sunday, from 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM, in our garden sanctuary. Gathering under the fullness of the moon allows us to align our work with nature’s own peak of illumination and energy — a fitting time to reflect, release, and grow.

The Practice of Intentional Eating

At midday, we pause our work in the soil to gather for a shared meal — eaten slowly, in silence or soft conversation, with full attention on taste, texture, and gratitude. Intentional eating asks us to treat nourishment as sacred: to notice where our food came from, to chew with awareness, and to receive the meal as an extension of the same life force we’ve been tending all morning. It is a bridge between the garden and the body — a reminder that what we grow, we are meant to truly taste.

An Invitation

There is a quiet magic that happens when you kneel in the dirt with intention, beneath a sky lit full by the moon — and later, sit down to eat what that same intention helped bring to life. The garden does not rush. It does not perform. It simply grows, in its own time, exactly as it needs to.

Temple de la Luna invites you to become part of that unhurried wisdom. Come sit with the soil. Come listen to what the leaves have to teach. Come nourish yourself, slowly and fully. Come remember that you, too, are a living thing capable of extraordinary bloom.
