Professional Mediums in Service to the Community ~ 856-379-8510

Welcome to our Centro, a center for mediums to develop their gifts. If you are interested in mediumship skills or attending a Misa, please contact us.

What a Misa is

A Misa is a collaboration of Spiritual Guides, mediums and participants. Within the Sanse tradition one of our central public ceremonies is a Misa, or Mesa Blanca. A Misa is a spiritual mass designed to allow the spirits to give messages and guidance to the public for progression and healing. They are usually held within someone’s home or in a small temple. they are non-denominational as the focus is to assist and support the community.

For us, as Sansistas, it is important to give to the communities we are connected with. Offering a Misa is one of the many ways we serve our community.

What you will see in a Misa

You will see a table set up with white cloth. On the table are ceremonial items we use to clear and elevate the space. We do this to offer a strong sacred space for messages to come through the mediums. Three or more mediums are always present. Most Misas are free because they are a public service. You will see a donation basket and it is common for people to donate money for the cause.

Sacred items that are used frequently like waters, candles and incense are donated by the participants, or paid for by the donations. Although most people who attend a Misa are people familiar with Caribbean mysticism, we invite ALL people to join in the fun. For us, Sanse is a diverse tradition comprised of many cultures, therefore Misa gatherings tend to be refreshing and supportive for everyone who attends.

There is no agenda in a Misa except for the mediums to share messages.

You also will see tables and offerings set up for various holidays, the changing of seasons, or particular spirits we may be honoring that day. Often you will also see spiritual cleansing and washes given out. Beautiful prayers will be read. I like the prayers we use because they are from all over the world and, yet, unusual and difficult to find outside of the tradition.

At the table the mediums will sit and they will call up people to give the messages quietly for privacy. Often, messages from ancestors or loved ones will come through. The participants may receive messages from a guide or Mystery / Lwa, and on rare occasions, a possession may take place by one of the mediums if there is a serious need for the visitation.

Sanse has been a private tradition

Sanse has held many secret teachings safe. Much like the Tarot, designed to hold important mysteries safe within an image, the Sanse tradition has protected spiritual laws from disappearing. Even today most Sansistas do not know the roots of some of the work they provide. In our temple, we strive to embody the tradition, the history and the meaning behind the work.

Sansistas have many different types of ceremonies that we conduct for both the public and in private.

Common Questions

1. What should I wear when attending?

Dress in light colors and a white top. In our tradition, faith, hope, and charity are important, we gather together to encourage hope, to give through charity, and to call forward people’s faith. We are a non-denominational temple. When we say faith we do not intend any church, religion or spirituality to be praised. In our culture faith resides within us and develops a person’s sense of safety and power. Faith in god for us, means a belief and trust in the great spirit and the universe. For some this may mean a god, to others a pervasive force. Ether way we are gathering for this reason, to bring forward people’s faith. The colors need to be light to represent the purity of this purpose.

2. I think I am an Espiritista, how do I know?

If you are an Espiritista you will have had a history with hearing, seeing and sensing what most other’s cannot. If you are gifted, you will remain in training until you are ready to join in on the Mesa Blanca. In some houses, mediums are allowed to join the table with no teachings. I believe this is wrong. We, at our temple provide the best teachings, the safest environment, and good mediumship. This requires you to go beyond your current level of mediumship with classes. We do not allow people to give messages unless we know they are clean – spirituality clear. This is our way. If you have the gift and want to develop your gift, we will see you for classes and teach you how to be on the Misa table. We recognize that anyone can be an Espiritista. Some have a natural knack for it. If you can already see, hear or feel the Spirits, you may find that you do well.

3. I am a Medium, can I be on the Misa table?

Yes, if you are an advanced medium or developing medium we welcome you to our ceremonies. As  we stated above, we do want people to train up to be on our tables, however, we encourage people from all traditions and backgrounds to join us. This is one of our traditions, to have people from various spiritual paths gather together at the table. This makes the Misa more powerful. If you want to join our group all you need to do is contact us.

4. What are typical donations? What should I bring?

Flowers, Florida Water, Money, Incense, Anil balls (blue ball), Sabbath candles, Seven Day candles. Anything from your heart.

5. What do I need to know?

Belief in God, the Great Spirit, or Universal power is important. You should also know how to pray. This is a sacred space for people to come and receive sometimes difficult news, guidance or healing. So, we ask everyone to respect the Misa the same way they would respect a temple. In our tradition, we do not have fancy temples. This is how Sanse developed, in a hut, at a table, by the beach, in the woods, hidden and far away from people who would otherwise have destroyed the gathering. This is our time for connecting with spiritual guides. We ask everyone to be respectful to the mediums and the other participants at the gathering. Be on time, bring a donation. Come ready to have fun – this is important to us because a Misa is also a celebration.

6. When do you perform services open to the public?

We have a monthly gathering. Sign up for our email list and you will be invited.

Celebrate the Soley Division

Summer Solstice

People have celebrated the summer solstice for over 4,000 years. Mega alters dedicated to the changing of seasons are located all over our world. In Europe, and India, in South America, and Nepal, in Australia, and Africa. Every culture gathers in ceremony to acknowledge the changing of season and the longest day of the year.

For us, in our beautiful Sanse tradition, we could use this day to celebrate the Soley Division – the Division of the Sun. We have less emphasis on the seasons themselves because Sanse is a tradition which is used day by day, calling on particular spirits for help in our daily needs. I feel this is a good opportunity to bring together the annual worship of the Sun and our own Sun Deity for a cool lesson in the art of spirit medicine.

We hear so much about the other aspects of spirituality and witchcraft, like the moon, our psyche, or casting intentions.

A less known and less worked with energy we use in Sanse Espiritismo is Sun Magic. In our tradition, we have seven groups of spirits. Within each group is a family of innumerable spirits. These 7 Divisions together complete the spiritual path, leading one on a journey from the 1st plane of earthly power, through each level of power, and entering the final 7th plane, the Soley Division. This final phase of enlightenment allows us to encounter oneness with the Divine.

We reach the Soley Division as our last challenge in human consciousness and human awareness. Our challenge here is to fortify and strengthen ourselves by casting away our notions of God, Goddess, our beliefs and projections of spiritual biases. When we step into this abyss, we encounter our final tests before reaching the radiance known as Grand Soley.

This requires facing our greatest fears, distinguishing between false guidance, illusions and truths. The Soleys do not enter into relationship with a practitioner until they are ready, and few rarely are. Why? Because we fear our greatest fears, it is pretty much that simple.

On the other side, we meet our beloved deity of the sun, Grand Soley. He is not as it would seam. What comes from this relationship is both simple and very rich. A sense of fertility, virility, warmth in the mind from wealth and prosperity. Power to heal illnesses – if you are a healer. A feeling of deep joy, and a blast of solar power difficult to describe.

Within the Soley family resides a small group of spirits we keep as a mystery until people are ready for those teachings. We cannot just hand this power over to people, it must be cultivated through succeeding with the other 6 Divisions. As my teacher Papa Hector Salva says, “A lot of people think they are connecting with the Sun Division, but few really are in contact with this family of spirits.”

As the solstice comes over our planet, let’s offer up one fear as an offering to the sunlight. One fear to our sacred sunlight as a way to invite this Earthy power into our hearts.

Spirit Medicine recipe

First: Pour a glass of water at the break of day. Place it outside in the sun for a blessing.

Second: Take an orange and fill it with your hopes by holding it in your hands and praying over it. Place next to water.

Third: Write down on a piece of parchment paper the fear you want to face and overcome. Fold it, place it in a second glass of water next to the orange.

Fourth: Mindfully pray to the sunlight or Grand Soley for guidance and support. Let sit overnight.

The next morning say an opening prayer:

1. Take the water with the fear in it, holding the water up to the sun, call on the sunlight or Grand Soley. Ask him to remove this fear from your body and mind.

2. Pour out in a bush or beneath a tree. Ask the plant to absorb all the emotions of the fear for you. Offer the plant a gift for its work. This clears your body, mind and emotions. Next we will cleanse your spirit. 3. Open the orange with your fingers, squishing all the pulp and juice into a bowl. Say, “As I open this orange, so do I open my connection with the Sunlight or Grand Soley.”

4. Pour the blessed glass of water in with the orange juice and pulp.

5. Optional – add some fresh basil for a blessing.

6. Rub this all over your body. First neck down, then feet up. Use the orange as a tool to rub the juice on you. As you rub down, ask for all the things you want cleared from you to be cleared away. As you rub up, ask for all the blessings you want to come to you.

This cleanses and heals you as the sunlight pours over your skin through the blessed water and orange.

Remember this is not just power of positive thinking. You are acting in accordance and with a power in nature and calling on spirit to help heal and clear you. Be sacred, pray from your heart. Find time to continue to pray out loud thanking the spirit for the spirit medicine given to you every day.Have Fun!

A Warrior

In our tradition we battle. Life is not a simple exchange of energies. It is calculated. With each interaction, we choose to balance the natural forces for the evolution at hand. This calculation requires a complete awareness of all the natural spirits that comprise our spiritual frame, whether we like those spirits or not.

We cannot choose our spirits, they have already chosen us. It is our great work to balance them, including the waring spirits. If we deny this nature, it becomes intertwined with our karma and influences our life in a volatile manner. The only way to manage peace is to allow these spirits their will to battle.

Because our greatest wounds are protected by this energy, every time you come into contact with your most powerful waring spirits, it will seem like you are unleashing negativity. This negativity, though, is the very energy that would have protected you as a child. But, now this energy sits silently standing guard over these wounds. This is what we call unexalted energy.

Every person in adulthood needs to allow this power to come forth and move it from protecting the childhood wounds into a new formed expression. If not, the adult acts like a wounded child with a powerful under-evolved waring force protecting the wound.

The most powerful pain inside a human is guarded by this force. To move this energy requires you heal these wounds. Then except the warrior spirits you have. These spirits combined with healing will move your life forward. They will burst forward and clear all hidden blocks. They will open your heart and free your mind, unleashing free will, empowerment and wisdom. They are a guiding protection force no spiritual leader can be without.

Warrior energy is tempered through directing it towards your goals, your passions and your truths. This energy can be exalted, and when it is, no one can ever wound you. You will be protected, successful and passionate.

Working with the Spring

Three ways Spring can help you

It is Spring now as we have just passed the vernal equinox on March 20, 2013. As the energy in the Earth flows upward, we begin to wake up feeling this new energy reaching into our bodies. The way we connect to the life force is through the Earth.

Life force is the energy behind all matter, moving through every level of life, from element, to plant, to animal, to spirit, to mysteries, to Goddess, God, and the divine infinite.

This is the connecting factor, like dark matter, the life force is everywhere and nowhere all at once, pulsing in and out of time and moving throughout atoms and forming galaxies. On our planet this force can be increased and transferred into our bodies through touching the Earth in different ways.

Here are some simple ways to enhance the movement of life force in your body this Spring clearing the old, awakening the new, and reconnecting you.

1. Touch the Earth

By touching the ground, old stagnant energy can move out as new life force moves in. When we work with spirit, the offerings are always given to the trees, the rivers, the roads or the ground, because we must make actual contact with the power of nature to transfer our communication to the spirit realm.

If you need strength, go to a tree and talk. If you need new pathways, go to the roads. If you need clarity, the river. If you need love, go to the ocean. The mind is one of our most powerful tools when acting in accordance to the laws of spirit. These actions mentally shift patterned thinking into a complex symbiotic interaction with life force, necessary for belief. Without belief, magic is dust in the wind. Pour yourself into your environment and allow her to fill you with her magic. This is why we work as magicians, to reform our minds to become vessels for spirit, not determined by mind.

2. Rip something up

Get rid of the old feelings, emotions, energies, sorrows. Even happiness can be interchanged for new life force. Get a flower and rip it to shreds. Move hurt into the petals then throw it into the water so it flows away from you. Crush grain while talking about unresolved issues and let the frustration move into the work, grinding until your hands hurt. This will push the unresolved feelings into the grain. Then toss it to the wind and let the spirits resolve it for you. Use the forces you have in your environment to co-create with the spirit and with nature.

3. Plant

This is a good way to establish new dreams and ideas. Holding the intention of your thoughts as you dig and remove dirt from the ground. Watering the plant and taking care of the plant builds the belief in your intentions. This is good to do in the springtime because the life force gently returning to below will help build the strength in your intention and imbue the plant with power.

If all this does not help you, you can always receive help from a priestess or priest. This is what we are here for.

Answering a question about love

Lets play a game, send me a question and I will write an answer next blog.

The only question that I can think about is regarding love… and it’s haunting me, so I’ll ask this one: How does your spirit truly like to pick and be with a partner? The spirit can be confused in love by chords, karma to past lives, abusive cycles etc.

People think past life lover ties are so romantic and “deep” love, or another pull is an abusive relationship that fails over and over again. But, in our work, we would remove the ties and chords and false pulls, leaving clarity. The clarity might be that you don’t want to be with that person anymore, and the “love” isn’t there anymore, because it never really was, or you realized you were caught up in the wrong things. When magic is working, it’s left up to the spirits and what would be good for my spirit or his spirit. So, what would that be?

What is love? When we are in a relationship, the relationship serves a purpose. It’s purpose is to give you what you are needing to heal and develop in yourself. Like if you have to develop self trust, you can develop this self trust from being in a relationship that teaches you how to trust in yourself. This is love, when two people become a catalyst for health and growth.

The problem is, and there is a problem, people mistake giving their partner what they themselves need, hoping they will receive it back in return. This creates a payment system in the relationship. I gave you this, you owe me that. This is a problem for several reasons. 1. If you are giving your partner what you really need, you are unable to give them what they really need. 2. If you are giving your partner what you really need, you are not receiving what you need from them.

For example, Sally want’s to be more passionate with her lover, because Sally has freed up her passions through healing and inner work. She really needs to express her newfound freedom in love making. She begins to contemplate how to get her partner to be more fiery himself. She wants him to be a hot lover, sexy, dominant, and wanting her. She focuses on changing him and is disappointed that he hasn’t yet.

This is unfair. The guy loves her. He is used to treating her gently because this is what she needed from him prior to her healing work. She is trying to change him because she changed. Love is built through exploring ways of relaying, receiving and giving needs. This is the work of being in a relationship.

How magic fits in. Well, this is where it gets fun. Magic creates a way to have Sally’s man begin to desire the change. For example, magic can help Sally’s partner let go of how she was and to wake up to how she is now. This will give Sally more ability to express and receive her needs from him.

Good magic always moves people closer to their own truth. The magic wakes up his sleeping passion, helping him become more of who he really is. This is fun, magic can help the healing process. Healing does not have to be deep and hard. It actually can happen through enhancing the potential. Then it is up to him how he wants to respond. Magic communicates with the spirit directly to support love, loving, love making, love romancing and love seeking.

This is how it works. Healing plus magic equals actualization. Work it! Use your gift from the sprits of the life you are given to heal yourself, and use the gift of the spirits you are given to actualize your healing.

To work this magic on your own, take something you have been working on and ready to move into reality. Paint it, draw it, or create a symbol representing your need.
Spirit communicates through art and ritual. Place your art next to a candle and a glass of water. Ask your spirits to bring you what you have painted. Do this every day for three days. When you are done, toss the water outside. Take your painting and put it away until you receive what you asked for. When you do, gift your spirits something, like flowers or a sweet offering. You can hang up your painting if you want to remind you that you truly are co-creating your life.

Developing a Stronger Connection

Three things you can do to develop your connection.

1. Clear your space

Spirits are a frequency; they radiate a field and will attract to like energy fields. Because spirit is our access to divine nature, and nature’s access to us is spirit, it is essential you know, connect with, and hear the guidance of your spirits. Yes, you are not alone and can never be. You are made up of spirit and spirit is also made up of you. We are connected. Much like an energy circuit, the spirits’ purpose is served when they reach a destination and plug into a device to serve the device. Imagine an energy power plant. It is huge and if you tried to touch it you would die. So, the energy is filtered into main wires for distribution all over the city. These main wires are directed into smaller wires that go throughout your home and even smaller wires that make a wall jack. You can plug a device into the wall jack and receive an electrical current just for you to use.

The unlimited power drawn into the power plant is the divine nature. The power plant is raw nature energetic or pure spirit. The main wires are mysteries and allies, the energy current. The smaller wires are spirits and guides who serve the current in teeny tiny ways which can be utilized. These spirits and guides are able to transmit this infinite life force to you in a safe and useful way. They create the energy of a space.

Trying to plug directly into the power plant is a bad idea. This is one of the mistakes people on spiritual exploration often try to do. Your guides and spirits help communicate the great spirit’s nature to you in little ways that can heal and balance the mind, body and even soul. This process of creating a connection takes time and dedication.

Begin with creating a clear sacred space for these spirits and guides to find you. Light a candle to build heat to attract the guide, place items next to your candle that are sacred to you and charge the items by heating them up over the flame. Sage or incense the room to create an avenue for the spirits to see you. Wash the floor with herbs to honor the guides. Throw salt to wick up old stale energy. REMOVE CLUTTER from your home! Negativity resides in clutter. Clear, clear, clear.

2. Raise the energy

A clear space is cool but will fill back up with commonality immediately unless the energy is elevated. Elevating the energy will help give you a place of calmness and sanctuary to be in while connecting. This is important for clearing your mind, resting your heart and relaxing your body. If you have heard this before, so what, try it again. This time do it right. Ring bells from the floor up to elevate the sound frequency. Sound is energy, you must move sound up to elevate the space. Bring water in. Water conducts electricity and neutralizes the electromagnetic field. Either sprinkle sacred water, pour a bowl of water or use a fountain. Regular water will get mucked up with energy fast; it must be spiritually purified for the elevating to work.

Lastly pray out loud to bring in life force to elevate the space. If you know how to bring in the life force, then do. If not, prayer is a good start. Prayer must be out loud; the spirit needs to hear your sound frequency. Spirit does not like begging, pleading or pussyfooting. Be straight, direct, command!

3. Contain the space

Now you can stabilize the work you have done by containing the space. Do this by creating a field. Here are a couple of good ways to do so. Place four items, one in each corner of the room, to hold the energy. These items will need to be cleared from time to time by being soaked in salt water. I personally like creating a circle encompassing the space. This can be done with salt, herbs, cornmeal or any other grain, mineral or herb. Find something you have an affinity for. These items have been used for thousands of years and they work! Every time you clear and elevate the energy, it builds on the previous work you have done. Now, you are ready to bring the spirit to you. Listen, breath, relax, and focus on feeling the energy current.

If you notice this does not work for you, you probably have a negative spirit or entity sabotaging the work. To clear this requires the gifted and trained hand of a spirit worker. Do not be surprised by the number of untrained and non-initiated people advertising themselves as “spirit workers.” Utilize caution when hiring someone to help you. Find a person who gives you a bit of the heebee-geebeez, but who also seems sweet and kind. This means they know something you do not and it is hidden. That is a good sign. Spirit work is not all light and fluffy. There is a reason the mysteries, for thousand of years, where kept hidden and safe in temples away from manipulators and ego dwellers.

Clear your space, raise the energy and contain the space. These three things will enhance your connection with spirit.

Many blessings!
